I got the inspiration to write about this topic when I saw how poorly a lot of men in their 40 and 50s are dressed. I have a passion for clothings, shoes and fragrance. I want to inspire men to dress more stylish and classy.

I´m not talking about men´s fashion. Mature men should avoid fashion cloths because fashion changes from year too year. I´m talking about timeless classic clothes which you can wear for a long time. Before we a talking about what to wear, the most important is fit. If the clothes don't fit you it doesn't matter how expensive clothes you wear, it will never look good on you. 

What do you need in your closet to be able to dress stylish? This is my opinion.

 

First item every man should have is at least one coral grey suit or dark navy blue. There will be occasions in every man's life when he needs a suit. A suit is very versatile because you don’t need to use the suit jacket and trousers together. You can easily dress it down if you use the suit jacket with a pair of chinos or jeans. The trousers can be used with a dress shirt.

 

Every man should own a white and a light blue dress shirt. It is necessary to have to your suit.

The Oxford shirt which is less formal than a dress shirt is a versatile shirt you can use with a pair of chinos, jeans or dress pants.

 

When it’s summer you need a long or short sleeve linen shirt. A white linen shirt is almost transparent so coloured is to be preferred if you don’t want to show your nipples.

A short sleeve polo shirt should also be in every man's wardrobe.

Both the linen shirt and the polo shirt is less formal than a dress shirt but can be used with a pair of chinos or jeans and even to a pair of shorts.

A couple of T-shirts in solid color should be in your wardrobe.

If you live in an area where it is colder in autumn and winter you should own a wool sweatshirt. There are several types of sweatshirts. Crew neck, V-neck or turtleneck. Begin with a grey V-neck. Grey is a neutral colour and can match all kinds of colours.

Winter Clothing for men

The first thing a stylish winter dressed man needs is a pair of leather boots with a rubber sole. I prefer a leather lace up boot or a Chelsea boot. The second is an overcoat. You should choose a solid colour that's more stylish. The third thing is a turtleneck. A turtleneck will keep your neck warm. It’s very versatile and sophisticated and it looks great on almost everything. A turtleneck will elevate your outfit..The fourth thing you need is a lightweight west. It’s perfect for layering under your overcoat or jacket. If the weather allows it, you can wear it on your sweater. The fifth thing is a pair of wool trousers. They will keep you warm and more stylish than a pair of jeans or chinos. The sixth thing is a scarf. scarf. It will keep your neck warm. The last thing a stylish man needs is a pair of leather driver gloves, it's more stylish rather than a pair of knitted gloves.
