About Me

I'm adopted from Korea and came to Sweden in 1967 when I was about 20 month old. I was adopted through Child Placement Service nowadays called ”Social Welfare Society”. I don't remember anything from my time in Korea or my early childhood.
I have always as, long as I can remember, known that I am adopted. My parents told me very early how I came to them.
Despite my asian look I was seldom teased or abused in school and I had always easy to make new friends. I did my military duty in 1987.
When I was about 20 years old I started to be interested in Korea and my adoption. In 1989 I joined AKF (Adopted Koreans Association) to learn more about my birth country and to meet other adoptees.

In September 1991 I did my first home land tour and after I came back from Korea I decided to learn the Korean language. I started my Korean studies at Stockholm University in 1994.

I have been back 10 times and also been living in Korea for longer periods when I was studying the korean language at Seoul National University (서울대) and Korea University (ê³ ë ¤ëŒ€).

I live in a suburb outside Stockholm and have been working since twenty years ago for a global security company.

I have an international family. My sister is adopted from Ethiopia and I'm married to Katarzyna who is from Poland. My mother is Swedish and is remarried with a man from England. My father passed away and is no longer with us anymore. When I was 18 years old my parents decided to separate so I moved to my own apartment. I don't have any children of my own, but my wife has two adult daughters and we have four wonderful grandchildren.
